Alexander and Jordan
January 14 - February 1, 2007
Alexander: The biggest thing that has
happened over the last few weeks has been our trip to San Diego to visit Grandma
Mehlenbacher for her 80th Birthday. It was really great to be able to see
Great-Grandma and Grandpa, Grandpa Sick and Memere, all of my Great-Aunts, and
my Uncle Ben and Travis. The weather was nice, the food was good (we got
to eat out a lot), and the people were really great. For a week after we
got back I kept asking if we could go back and see everybody. We got to
ride on a train, play basketball, go to a party, and sleep in a hotel. The
time shift made it hard to adjust our sleep, so we were waking up at 4:30 in the
morning. We did not mind too much, but our parents did.
I have been doing so well with my potty training that my
parents are letting me go to bed without a diaper or even underwear. I
hardly ever have an accident. I am doing well with using nice words too.
Sometimes I have to be reminded, but I use "Please" and "Thank you" most of the
time. I am even helping Jordan learn his words and his colors. I
read to him when I can. All in all I am doing pretty good.
Jordan: I had a really good time in California too. The plane trip was
fun. I kept telling my parents that I was going up in the sky like a bird.
My vocabulary is getting pretty amazing. I am even putting three word
sentences together. I can say things like, "Awa [Alexander] hit me," and
"Awa touched hot [the fireplace]." I am learning how to be a tattle-tale.
We are trying something new in the mornings. Daddy has
started to take us to work three mornings a week. Now that Mommy is
teaching Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, she does not have enough time to
bring us to day care in time for her to get to work. Daddy does a pretty
good job. Alexander and I try to make it as challenging as we can to get
us dressed in time for us to get out the door.
