Alexander and Jordan
March 6 - April 1, 2006
Alexander: It has been a really long time since
my dad has updated the web but he apologizes. He has been very busy for
the past month. He spent the second weekend of March in Kansas City, the
third weekend in San Diego, the fourth weekend working in the hospital, and this
weekend we went on a mini-vacation to a hotel-water park. We have had a
lot of time with mommy but it will be good to spend more time with daddy.
He is not going anywhere for the month of April and will be gone a lot of May
again (Nova Scotia and Chicago).
I am really working on my reading skills. I know almost
all of my letters. The only one I have trouble remembering is "J".
Now I am trying to remember the sounds that they make. I also can help
read the books that my parents read to me. Or at least it looks that way.
I can often complete the sentences of many of the stories. Don't tell them
that I can't really read; I am just memorizing the words.
I have also been working on peeing in the potty. Most
of the time I remember, but sometimes, especially when I am having a lot of fun
playing, I forget.
This past weekend we went to the Grand Rios water park for an
overnight trip. We wanted to spent some time away from home as a family,
so we went there overnight. I did not realize how much I would miss my
bed, though, and I had a hard time falling asleep in the hotel. Saturday
morning we spent 2 hours at the water park, playing in the wading area, going
down the slides and riding on the inner tube. The water was a little cold,
so we had to leave when Jordan started to shiver and turn blue.
Jordan: I missed my daddy too while he was gone.
He called everyday and I got to yell some gibberish into the phone. I
tried to tell him that I am learning how to crawl even faster and sometimes can
stand for 1-2 seconds without holding on to something.
Alexander was right about the water park. It was a lot
of fun jumping up and down in the water and splashing, but I got pretty cold.
My dad had to bring me into a smaller sitting pool that was warm so I could stop
shivering. Eventually they wrapped me in a couple of towels, and I fell
laid my head on my dad's shoulder and rested. It was tiring to play so
much.
